Wulingyuan’s sandstone pillars, forest paths and mountain viewpoints, reached through a combination of park transport and walking.

About this place
The attraction is not one isolated peak: it is a large landscape of sandstone towers, wooded valleys and different visitor areas. Looking across the pillars and walking below them produce very different impressions. Use the park’s transport network to connect a manageable set of places rather than chasing every famous photograph.

Choose a connected area within the forest park instead of attempting all viewpoints. Tianmen Mountain is a separate attraction. Weather, queues and the party’s ability on steps should shape the final order.
Zhangjiajie National Forest Park and Tianmen Mountain require separate planning. Check the park area, entrance and transport included in any ticket before choosing accommodation.
Golden Whip Stream offers a different valley perspective on another park day. Tianmen Mountain and the Grand Canyon need separate planning.
Getting there & around Zhangjiajie ↗A flexible day idea
Use this day plan as a guide. We can adjust the walking, transport and breaks for your group.
Use the entrance and internal transport that match the chosen route. Begin with an introduction to the sandstone pillar landscape rather than a long list of disconnected photo stops.
Focus on Yuanjiajie or Tianzi Mountain and selected nearby viewpoints. Keep a meal break and time to enjoy the scenery when mist moves through the peaks.
Finish with a manageable walking section where access and transport fit. Protect the journey back to the correct gate; leave other park areas for a second day.
