Why visit
The gorges are a corridor through a large landscape, not a single stop that can be added to any Chongqing afternoon. Qutang Gorge is one of the distinctive sections, where cliffs narrow the view from the water. Compare the actual route and river time before choosing any journey described simply as a Yangtze cruise.

Plan your visit
The Three Gorges are not a central Chongqing afternoon cruise. Compare the precise embarkation port, endpoint, nights and included shore visits. The vessel’s actual itinerary determines which gorge appears on which day.
Confirm the embarkation port, endpoint, nights and included shore stops. A short city river cruise and a multi-day journey through the gorges are fundamentally different plans.
Nearby visits and onward travel
Chongqing city time works before embarkation or after disembarkation, according to the route. It does not replace the travel days through the gorges.
