The Li River is a landscape corridor, not a single viewpoint. A boat journey emphasizes the succession of peaks and riverside settlements; a land-based stop lets you linger with one particular bend. Decide which experience you want before combining it with countryside time around Yangshuo.

Plan your visit
Decide between a longer river sailing and a land-based river visit. The departure pier, arrival point and overnight base determine the day. Yangshuo, Xingping and Guilin are different transfer destinations.
Check the actual departure and arrival locations for river trips. Guilin city, Yangshuo town and the different river access points are not interchangeable transfer addresses.
Nearby visits and onward travel
Xingping can anchor a land-based Li River day. Yulong River countryside is a separate landscape experience around Yangshuo.

Reach the right river access
Travel to the confirmed pier or the selected riverside viewpoint. Keep the approach unhurried and check where the experience ends before arranging the onward transfer.
- Explore
Follow the limestone peaks
On a sailing, watch the succession of hills and villages. On land, spend time around one river bend and the nearby public paths instead of chasing every viewpoint.
- Finish
Settle into Yangshuo
Continue to the agreed base for a meal and a gentle evening. A countryside outing works better the following day than as a rushed addition after the river journey.
